As the gap grows
the wise one knows
not to focus on the lack
or try to turn back
Embracing this pace
there is joy in that place
where you see each petal unfold
quite the sight to behold
But it’s hard
to stay on guard
fighting off the lies
that all the time arise
What’s it like on the other side?
when you are not behind
is it an easier path?
does it go all too fast?
I will never know
for that is not my path to go
but God did not make a mistake
in creating this snowflake
Although the chasm feels wide
there is not a right side
and embracing where you are
is the secret to taking you far
